iMove and Screenflow

iMove - I made a movie but I wont be posting it... Not because it isn't awesome but because it contains cute video of someone's child.  Not my child, not my content to post.  However, awesome little tool.  Super easy!  I think I will create some videos of my cat until I figure out how to use this for work.

Screenflow - Funnily enough, I just bought this program before coming to the institute.  It's a fantastic program and I highly advising buying it if you need to create easy screen captures.

Oh!  And here is another logo.  I'm not sure I like the background colour but it was a h00t to make:

Pictures... Made Better? Maybe? I Don't Know...

What can I say... I'm not a photographer.  *sigh*

Why I Need Adobe Fireworks

I think this is about the most fun tool I've used in class so far.  Not because the other tools aren't awesome in their own way but Blogger and I have been very good friends for quite some time now and it's time to flirt with something new.

Adobe Fireworks has been a neat little tool that we've used in class for the creation of logos.  See that awesome logo at the top of the screen (ok, maybe not THAT awesome but awesome for me), that was made using Fireworks.  Now, I don't have any tips for using Fireworks, as I just have really started using it but I think it has some amazing potential.

In conclusion, if anyone from my library is interested in buying some software and wouldn't mind me visiting and taking over borrowing your computer, please think of Fireworks.

Thank you.

Ola!

This blog is a recounting of my time at the Digital Humanities Summer Institute 2011 at the University of Victoria.  This blog was created to document what I have learned in the course "Multimedia: Design for Visual, Auditory, and Interactive Electronic Environments" and to share this information with others who were unable to attend.
